“Time seemed to stop. He did not know whether to move or stay. He did not often open up to people. He preferred to hide his inner turmoil. He did not know what had made him reveal himself to this stranger. Perhaps it was as simple as her continuing to ask the questions that seemed to be waiting to be asked. He found that he liked it. He liked the feeling of exposing himself to her, in a way that he had not really done before. He wished she would ask him more questions. But he was a plumber, not a conversationalist and he had a job to do.”
