“In whatever role I may appear and whatever function I may perform – I remain what I am: the ‘I am’ immovable, unshakable, independent. What you call the universe, nature, is my spontaneous creativity. Whatever happens – happens. But such is my nature that all ends in joy.”
— Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
Meditation is not always pretty.
Imagine a world where the homeless can walk into the foyer of an office block and bunk down for the night; or knock on the door of a big house and the owner says sure, nobody sleeping in the spare room tonight; or put a little tent up in the city square and drum all night with the bros.
“Look at yourself steadily – it is enough.
The door that locks you in is also the door that lets you out.
The ‘I am’ is the door.
Stay at it until it opens.
As a matter of fact, it is open, only you are not at it.
You are waiting at the non-existing painted doors, which will never open.”
— Nisargadatta Maharaj
“It is not that a meditative person enters into heaven – no,
heaven enters into a meditative person.”
There is a Certain Knowing that arises.
